Q3:Insufficient material extrusion
1.Incorrect filament diameter
If this happens, the first thing to check is whether the filament diameter is correct. Typically, we use 1.75mm filament, but some manufacturers' filament diameters may not meet the standard and may be smaller than 1.75mm. In this case, it is recommended to use a caliper to measure the diameter of the filament over a certain distance and calculate the average diameter. Then, input the value into the corresponding field in the slicing software.
2.Increase the extrusion multiplier
If the filament diameter is set correctly but there is still a problem with low extrusion volume, then you need to adjust the extrusion multiplier (also known as flow rate). For example, if your extrusion multiplier was set to 1.0 before, and you change it to 1.05, it means that you will extrude 5% more plastic than before. The typical setting for PLA is 0.9, and for ABS it is close to 1.0. You can conduct a test print for each 0.05 increment until you obtain the correct value based on your specific situation.
