Q7Layer shifting
1.Excessively fast printing speed of the extruder
Layer shifting is caused by excessively fast printing or travel speed which exceeds the speed that the stepper motor can handle. To approach this problem, please slow down the travel speed or the acceleration, if necessary.
2.Loose machine belt
Normally, the belt drive system is equipped with a device to adjust tension level. Tightening the belt will easily solve this problem. But attention! Avoid over-tightness,otherwise, there may be resistance or potential for the shaft and bearing to not rotate due to friction.
3.Loose screws on the printer body
The small screw is used to fix the pulley to the shaft of the stepper motor, so that the pulley can rotate together with the motor shaft. However, if this screw is loose, the shaft may rotate without turning the pulley, which can cause layer shifting issues.
4.Insufficient current supply of the motor or overheating of the motor driver chip
Insufficient power supply current to the stepper motor can cause it to lack the necessary force to overcome resistance. The stepper motor driver chip may also overheat, causing the motor to stop rotating before the chip has a chance to cool down.
